C.M.H.A. H.K.P.R. Announces Fourth Annual Ride Don’t Hide

The Canadian Mental Health Association Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge (C.M.H.A. H.K.P.R.) is pleased to provide details on the fourth annual Ride Don’t Hide for Mental Health, presented by Leon’s Peterborough. The event will take place this year in both Peterborough at Nicholls Oval and in Lindsay at Old Mill Park. C.M.H.A. H.K.P.R. is pleased to partner with Leon’s Peterborough to present this annual event.

This year’s event is in support of Survivors of Suicide, a support group being launched by C.M.H.A. H.K.P.R. for families or loved ones who have been affected by suicide. The Survivors of Suicide support group will aim to bring individuals together who have experienced a similar loss or trauma as a result of suicide.

Riders can register for a 4k, 12k or 26k ride along the Rotary Trail in Peterborough or a 10k or 16k ride along the Rotary Trail and the Victoria Rail Trail in Lindsay. Please visit ridedonthide.com/cmhahkpr to register as an individual or a team. Register before April 30 at the Early Bird Rate of $35 per person and be guaranteed a t-shirt. After April 30, register for $45. Children 12 and under register for free. Individuals who can’t make it on the day are encouraged to register as a virtual rider at no cost.

Rides will be followed by a barbecue lunch, sponsored by Smokey Joe’s in Peterborough and Nesbitt’s Meat Market in Lindsay.

Can’t make the June 23rd event? Join C.M.H.A. H.K.P.R. at Leon’s Peterborough, 1731 Landsdowne Street West on May 25th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. as Leon’s hosts the Ride Don’t Hide Bike-A-Thon . On May 25th, participants are encouraged to bring their pledges to the store and hop on a stationary bike provided by Kawartha Fitness to show their support for mental health. There will be prizes for top fundraisers at the Bike-A-Thon. No need to pre-register, simply download your pledge form at https://cmhahkpr.ca/events/ride-dont-hide-2019/ and bring donations to Leon’s by 2:30 p.m. on May 25th. Any funds raised and turned in on May 25th will count towards the total event pledges!
