The Canadian Mental Health Association Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge (CMHA HKPR) is excited to offer an array of new courses through the H.O.P.E. Learning Centre this fall.
The H.O.P.E. (Helping Others Through Peer Education) Learning Centre, which launched this year, provides educational courses about mental health and well-being that promote recovery, hope, empowerment, possibility, and connection. Courses are collaboratively designed, developed, and delivered with individuals who have lived experience.
This week, H.O.P.E. launched their Fall Course Catalogue and Calendar, providing exciting new programming across the City of Kawartha Lakes, Peterborough, Northumberland, and Haliburton.
Courses are offered virtually and in-person and are intended for anyone over the age of 16 that is living with a mental health concern, but may be particularly beneficial for people who are looking to connect with others and could benefit from the support and guidance in making choices in their recovery journey.
“The H.O.P.E. Learning Centre brings innovative mental health and wellness programming to the communities we serve. It provides education in an interactive, meaningful way that focuses on improved quality of life for its participants.,” says Manager of Peer Initiatives and Employment Supports, Christine Crough. “Our aim in delivering programming is to help participants feel empowered, have a sense of connection and hopefulness as they move forward in their wellness journey.”
With summer coming to an end, H.O.P.E. is excited to release its new Fall Course Catalogue and Calendar. This fall, H.O.P.E. enrollees can look forward to workshops on art therapy, anti-racism, conquering negative thoughts, healthier habits and so much more.
