Open Your Mind

“Open Your Mind” is an impactful mental health training session designed specifically for high school students, focusing on combating stigma surrounding mental illness and psychosis through personal storytelling and educational content. This engaging program features a powerful presentation by an individual with lived experience who shares their personal story of psychosis, providing first-hand insight into what it means to live with mental illness. Through interactive discussions and activities, participants gain empathy and understanding, while educational components cover symptoms, treatment options, and recovery from mental health conditions. The session offers opportunities for students to ask questions and share their own thoughts and experiences, fostering a supportive school community around mental health issues. By hearing directly from someone who has experienced psychosis, participants gain valuable knowledge in an approachable, relatable manner. This combination of personal storytelling, educational content, and interactive elements makes “Open Your Mind” both memorable and impactful for participants. Highly recommended for schools looking to promote mental health awareness and combat stigma among their student body, this session helps create a more compassionate and inclusive school environment by opening minds and fostering greater understanding. This session is delivered in collaboration with our Lynx – Early Psychosis Intervention program.
