This course aims to equip managers and leaders with the knowledge and skills necessary to support employee mental health effectively. It covers the importance of mental health in the workplace, the difference between mental health and mental illness. The course includes communication techniques for addressing mental health issues, such as active listening and empathy, and strategies for building trust with employees. It also discusses mental health accommodations, and how to deescalate difficult situations. Additionally, the course provides tips for managers to take care of their own mental health and how to respond to an employee potentially at risk of suicide. The course concludes by emphasizing the creation of a supportive workplace culture that values mental health and well-being, and offers resources for continued learning and support.
