Participate in the Great Canadian Giving Challenge this June
May 28, 2020
The Canadian Mental Health Association Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge (C.M.H.A. H.K.P.R.), in partnership with CanadaHelps, invites donors to participate in the Great Canadian Giving Challenge, a virtual fundraising contest running from June 1 to June 30.
Charities providing essential services across Canada are facing fundraising shortfalls and a number of operational challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Great Canadian Giving Challenge is a national contest to benefit registered Canadian charities through CanadaHelps.
Every $1 donated to a registered charity in June via CanadaHelps.org or via the Canada Helps form on the charity’s website, automatically enters the charity to win an additional $20,000 donation. The grand prize draw will take place on July 1, Canada Day, and one lucky charity will receive $20,000. Canada Helps knows that the charitable sector has been hit hard by COVID-19, and has doubled the prize this year.
The effects of COVID-19 have impacted our community greatly and individuals with a pre-existing mental health concern are particularly vulnerable during this time. C.M.H.A. H.K.P.R. is working to meet the evolving needs of clients by continuing to provide essential mental health programming and services. Funds raised from the Great Canadian Giving Challenge will support us in continuing to work towards mental health for all in the communities we serve.
Corus Entertainment has already jumped on board and pledged to support C.M.H.A. H.K.P.R in the Great Canadian Giving Challenge as a corporate donor as well as help support other local charities by promoting this initiative. Corus Entertainment continues to be a leader in supporting the mental health of our community.
Mental health matters now more than ever and we thank you for your continued support. Donate between June 1 and June 30 online at www.cmhahkpr.ca/donate. Every dollar donated will bring us closer to a chance at winning $20,000 to go towards supporting our community’s most vulnerable population.
