H.K.P.R. continues to hold the health and safety of our staff, clients and the community in the highest regard. Following the recommendations of Peterborough Public Health regarding COVID-19, we have chosen to not move forward with an in-person vigil but instead, to host a virtual vigil. The vigil will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. via Zoom and followed by a virtual open mic from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. hosted by Trent Queer Collective.Gender Journeys, a service through C.M.H.A. H.K.P.R., provides programming, education, and support for those who are transgender, 2-spirit, gender diverse and individuals who are questioning their gender identity.

The afternoon aims to honor those who have lost their lives to anti-transgender violence and discrimination, to bring awareness to the continued violence that transgender and gender diverse individuals endure (especially trans women of colour), and to celebrate the strength and resilience of our communities.

The vigil is in honour of the lives that have been lost, and those who are still with us today. All who wish to attend this free, virtual event are welcome to register via the link below:
