Media Invited to Attend Tour Inside CMHA HKPR’s First Garden Home

The Canadian Mental Health Association Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge (CMHA HKPR) is delighted to invite media to attend a tour inside our first Garden Home this Thursday, April 17^th, at 267 Park Street from 10:30 to 12:00 p.m.

On October 1^st, 2024, media were invited to attend the arrival of the Garden Home from its manufacturer in Montreal. After the long journey to Peterborough, the prefabricated home was placed onto its foundation via a crane.

The Garden Home is now fully furnished and ready for occupancy. Media will have the unique opportunity to tour the innovative 480-square-foot (24 ft deep by 20 ft wide) home.

CMHA HKPR’s Garden Home is part of a distributed densification strategy designed to meet growing housing needs in the community. This modular construction approach offers high-quality, affordable housing options tailored for seniors or single individuals.

This project is the result of the collaboration between CMHA HKPR and Metrosuite with significant support from the City of Peterborough’s Building and Planning Department. The project is funded through financial support from the United Way of Peterborough & District, and private donors/fundraisers including Change the Cycle supporters, 24 Hour Ski Challenge participants and the Peterborough & Kawartha Realtor Estate Association.
