QCR Golf Tournament Supporting CMHA HKPR

The Canadian Mental Health Association Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge (CMHA HKPR) is pleased to announce that Quality Construction and Renovations will be hosting the QCR Golf Tournament in support of CMHA HKPR’s new Mobile Wellness Clinic, ‘the Road Ahead.’ The tournament will take place at Dalewood Golf and Country Club in Cobourg on September 16 at 1:00 p.m.

This year, the funds raised from the tournament will support CMHA HKPR’s the Road Ahead Mobile Wellness Clinic, which launched this past spring. The Road Ahead brings a full range of mental health and addictions services to individuals living in rural and remote areas and who face barriers to accessing existing services and supports. The clinic operates out of a vehicle that travels throughout the City of Kawartha Lakes, Haliburton, Peterborough and Northumberland Counties.

The program is currently in need of funds to support the purchase of a second vehicle, which will allow the team to support more individuals at once.

“While we have received financial support for one vehicle, we are thrilled that the QCR Golf Tournament will be supporting the purchase of a second vehicle,” says Jack Veitch, Manager of Community Engagement and Education with CMHA HKPR.

Golfers can register as foursomes or as singles at a cost of $175 per person. This includes use of the driving range, lunch, prizes, exciting hole contests, entertainment at holes, and a team photo. Golfers will also have a chance to win the hole-in-one prize, $25,000 towards a new car, made possible by Vandermeer Toyota.

“This event would not be possible without the support of our sponsors, a special thank you to our top sponsors Don Emond and Devon Tannahill of Assante Wealth Management, Sine’s Flooring, Comfort Zone, Marshman Brothers, Vout Welding, Tim Haynes Professional Corporation, as well as prize sponsor, Gilmer’s Home Hardware,” says Roger Hardy, Owner at Quality Construction and Renovations.

Businesses can also support the tournament by registering as a hole sponsor for $200.

Golfers can register by filling out a registration form, which can be found at https://cmhahkpr.ca/events/qcr-golf-tournament/ and emailing it to cmcintosh@cmhahkpr.ca. Payment will be accepted in advance or on event day via cash, credit, or debit. For further information regarding registration or sponsorship, contact Roger Hardy at 289-251-1408.

The event will follow local and provincial health guidelines regarding COVID-19 and care will be taken to ensure the safety of all golfers.
