CMHA HKPR’s HOPE Learning Centre Open House

Date: Thursday, August 31
Time: 1 to 4 p.m.

Location: 360 George Street North, Unit 27 (Lower Level of Peterborough Square)

The Canadian Mental Health Association Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge’s (CMHA HKPR’s) HOPE Learning Centre is hosting an open house to showcase their new space in Peterborough Square on Thursday, August 31st from 1 to 4 p.m. All are welcome to attend and check out the new space at 360 George Street North, Unit 27.

HOPE (Helping Others Through Peer Education) Learning Centre, which launched last year, provides educational courses about mental health and well-being that promote recovery, hope, empowerment, possibility, and connection. Courses are collaboratively designed, developed, and delivered with individuals who have lived experience with a mental health concern.

Many of the courses delivered through the Learning Centre are offered in-person and virtually. The new space will facilitate in-person learning to those in Peterborough and the surrounding areas. There is also a HOPE Learning Centre space in Lindsay for those living in Kawartha Lakes.

“The H.O.P.E. Learning Centre brings innovative mental health and wellness programming to the communities we serve and we are excited to have our own new space here in Peterborough,” says Manager of Peer Initiatives and Employment Supports, Christine Crough. “The new space will allow us to offer more opportunities for connection and in-person learning.”

HOPE Learning Centre is available to those who are 16 or older and living with a mental health concern but may be particularly beneficial for people who are looking to connect with others and could benefit from the support and guidance in making choices in their recovery journey.
