The Canadian Mental Health Association Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge (CMHA HKPR) is hosting the first ‘Change the Cycle,’ cycling fundraiser this Saturday, June 24 at Nicholls Oval in Peterborough. Cyclists of all ages and abilities are welcome.

The funds from Change the Cycle will support a new supportive housing initiative of CMHA HKPR, which aims to support vulnerable individuals who are at risk of homelessness in the Peterborough area by providing affordable, small homes.

CMHA HKPR launched Change the Cycle this April. “In years past, our organization has participated in a nation-wide fundraising event, but this year, with the goal of keeping all the money right here in our community, we launched our own cycling fundraiser,” says Jack Veitch, Manager of Community Engagement and Education with CMHA HKPR.

Cyclists can still register for 4k, 12k or 26k rides along the Rotary Trail in Peterborough. Please visit changethecycle.net to register as an individual or a team. Registration is $20 per person and children 12 and under register for free. Registration includes the ride, a t-shirt and a BBQ lunch.

CMHA HKPR would like to sincerely thank our presenting sponsors Toms Heating & Cooling and Corus Entertainment’s the Wolf 101.5, Global Peterborough, and 100.5 Fresh Radio. We would also like to thank Diamond Sponsor, CIBC Wealth – The Pyle Group, Gold Sponsor, AON Inc., and Silver Sponsors, Wild Rock Outfitters and Tim Nichols CPA.
