CMHA HKPR Launches 3rd Annual Change the Cycle

Subject: CMHA HKPR Launches 3rd Annual Change the Cycle
Date: Saturday, June 21st, 2025
Time: 9:00 a.m. registration, 10:00 a.m. start
Location: Nicholls Oval, 725 Armour Road, Peterborough

The Canadian Mental Health Association Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge (CMHA HKPR) is pleased to announce the launch of the third annual ‘Change the Cycle’ fundraising event, presented by Tom’s Heating & Cooling and Corus Entertainment. This year’s event will take place on June 21st, at Nicholls Oval in Peterborough.

To kick off the launch and support fundraising efforts, Tom’s Heating and Cooling has donated $5,000!

Once again, this year’s proceeds are being dedicated to supporting the vital work that CMHA HKPR provides to youth and families. “Youth mental health is a critical area of focus, given the unique challenges and needs of this demographic. We know the importance of providing accessible mental health care to young people, ensuring they can thrive. We are excited to announce this year’s proceeds will be going towards a new initiative called Planet Youth,” says Jack Veitch, Manager of Community Engagement and Education.

In 2023, CMHA HKPR launched Change the Cycle with the hopes of creating a cycling event for mental health awareness where all the money raised was kept right here, in our community. In 2024, CMHA HKPR’s Change the Cycle raised over $25K for youth and family mental health supports! This year, we hope to surpass that.

Cyclists can register for a 4k, 12k or 26k ride along the Rotary Trail in Peterborough. Please visit changethecycle.net to register as an individual or a team. Registration is $20 per person and children 12 and under register for free. Registration includes the ride, a t-shirt, and a BBQ lunch.

CMHA HKPR would like to sincerely thank our presenting sponsors Tom’s Heating & Cooling and Corus Entertainment’s the Wolf 101.5, Global Peterborough, and 100.5 Fresh Radio. We would also like to thank Diamond Sponsor, CIBC Wealth – The Pyle Group, Gold Sponsors AON Inc. and RBC Wealth Management, Silver Sponsor Merrett Home Hardware, as well as event sponsors Big Billard Yard Insurance Group and Loblaws.
