Garden Homes

CMHA HKPR is proud to be the first social agency in Peterborough to establish a Garden Home. Our first Garden Home arrived in Peterborough on October 1st, 2024 and will launch in the coming months. To read more about that exciting day, click here.

CMHA HKPR Garden Homes are small, approximately 480 square-foot, prefabricated homes. They contain everything a single individual or a couple may need, including a kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, and laundry facilities. These homes sit on lots of preexisting homes with the goal of densification and creating more affordable housing options for our clients and community.

The Garden Homes project is funded through support from the United Way Peterborugh & District as well as fundraising events such as Wild Rock Outfitters Ski-Relay and Change the Cycle 2023. This project was also made possible through the support of donors such as the Peterborough and Kawartha Realtor Estate Association.

CMHA HKPR’s Garden Homes are designed by Toronto-based company, Metrosuite.
