Mental Distress: Recognition and Response is a critical training session designed to equip individuals with the skills to identify the signs of mental distress and respond effectively. Participants will learn about various indicators of mental health concerns. The session emphasizes the importance of active listening, empathetic communication, and de-escalation techniques to engage with someone in distress. By the end, attendees will be better prepared to offer support and guide those in need towards professional help, promoting a culture of understanding and compassion. This course has two customized editions.
Leadership Edition
In this specialized version, we focus on equipping managers and leaders with the tools to address and support their staff’s mental health. This session delves deeper into recognizing the signs of mental distress among team members, understanding the impact of workplace stressors, and learning effective communication strategies to foster a supportive environment. Attendees will leave equipped to lead with empathy, creating a psychologically safe workspace that encourages open dialogue about mental health, ultimately enhancing overall team well-being.
Client Service Edition
This version is tailored for professionals, friends, family, and community members, focusing on supporting someone experiencing mental health concerns. Participants will learn to identify signs of mental distress, engage in empathetic conversations, and guide individuals towards appropriate resources. Emphasizing the importance of active listening, this course aims to build a supportive network around those in need, ensuring they receive the care and understanding crucial for their journey towards wellness. Participants will learn the importance of setting healthy boundaries and self-care.
