100 Women of Kawartha Lakes Donates Nearly $13K to CMHA HKPR’s Assertive Outreach for Suicide Prevention Program
Feb 1, 2022
The Canadian Mental Health Association Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge (C.M.H.A. H.K.P.R.) is pleased to announce that we have been selected as the recipient of the latest donation from the 100 Women of Kawartha Lakes, receiving $12,925 to go towards our Assertive Outreach for Suicide Prevention (A.O.S.P.) program in Kawartha Lakes. The donation was presented to C.M.H.A. H.K.P.R. on March 23rd by representatives from 100 Women of Kawartha Lakes.
The 100 Women of Kawartha Lakes consists of a group of local women who meet three times per year and jointly select a local registered charity or non-profit to receive a $100 cheque from each of their members. The idea is that by joining funds, the group can make more of an impact, creating real change within the community.
C.M.H.A. H.K.P.R.’s A.O.S.P. program works in partnership with the Ross Memorial Hospital and provides assertive follow-up and support to individuals who have made a serious suicide attempt. The program also supports family members of those who have made a serious suicide attempt via the Family Support and Education Worker.
C.M.H.A. H.K.P.R. would like to sincerely thank the 100 Women of Kawartha Lakes for selecting our A.O.S.P. program for their generous donation.
“We are so grateful for the support of the 100 Women of Kawartha Lakes. Their donation will go directly towards life saving measures supporting some of our community’s most vulnerable individuals and working towards keeping them alive,” says Jack Veitch, Manager of Community Engagement and Education with C.M.H.A. H.K.P.R.
