The Canadian Mental Health Association Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge (C.M.H.A. H.K.P.R.) is pleased to invite the public to Lift Locks and Leg Locks, a family-friendly evening of live, professional wrestling in support of mental health.

The event includes a number of Ontario’s top professional wrestlers including IMPACT Wrestling star Josh Alexander, Jody Threat, Mark Wheeler, Addy Starr and more.

Wheeler, who has been making a name for himself as one of the best in the province, has openly shared his mental health journey in hopes of helping others. He says when he started wrestling four years ago it quickly became an outlet for him to express himself after years of battling depression.

“Depression sucks but there’s always something you could do to help fill that void. For me, it’s wrestling. For you, it could be anything,” says Wheeler.

In addition to astounding athletic, dramatic performances, the evening will feature a silent auction with all proceeds supporting C.M.H.A. H.K.P.R.’s community engagement and educational programming.

“We are so grateful and excited that this event is coming to Peterborough to not only entertain our community but to help us invest in mental health initiatives, ultimately making our region a safer place to work and live,” says Jack Veitch, Manager of Community Engagement and Education for C.M.H.A. H.K.P.R..

“This is a fantastic opportunity for us to engage and share our message with the many passionate fans of professional wrestling, as well as those who are simply looking for a fun, family-friendly way to spend an evening.”
