Important Update Regarding CMHA HKPR’s Ride Don’t Hide Event

Date:          Saturday June 18, 2022

Time:         10:30 a.m. (New Time)

Location:   Heritage Pavilion, 300 Hunter Street East, Peterborough (New Location)

The Canadian Mental Health Association Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge (CMHA HKPR) would like to share an important update regarding their upcoming Ride Don’t Hide event happening on June 18th, presented by Tom’s Heating and Cooling. Unfortunately, due to the severe damage caused by the recent storm in Peterborough, the City of Peterborough has informed CMHA HKPR that the Rotary Trail and Nicholls Oval will not be open for use by June 18th.

In light of this update, CMHA HKPR will be moving the event from Nicholls Oval to Heritage Pavilion at 300 Hunter Street East, Peterborough.

The closure of the Rotary Trail means that there will not be a physical cycling event and the organized 4k, 12k, and 26k rides are cancelled. Instead, CMHA HKPR will be hosting a celebration ceremony on June 18th from 10:30 to 2:00 to thank participants, sponsors, and donors. Individuals are encouraged to complete their rides at their own leisure throughout the day.

At the event, registered participants can pick up their Ride Don’t Hide t-shirt and swag, enjoy a free BBQ, drop-off donations and pledges, and hear from event sponsors. Top fundraisers will also be presented with prizes. All are welcome to attend.

“We would like to thank the City of Peterborough employees who have been working tirelessly to clean up following the devastating storm that hit our region over the May Long Weekend. We would also like to thank the City of Peterborough for helping us to secure an alternate venue for our event,” says Jack Veitch, Manager of Community Engagement and Education with CMHA HKPR.

Individuals are still encouraged to sign up for Ride Don’t Hide. To sign up, donate or learn more about Ride Don’t Hide, visit ridedonthide.com/cmhahkpr

Proceeds from this year’s event will support CMHA HKPR’s new Mobile Mental Health and Addictions Clinic.

CMHA HKPR would like to thank Presenting Sponsor Tom’s Heating and Cooling, Diamond Sponsors the 100.5 Fresh Radio, 101.5 The Wolf, Global Peterborough, and CIBC the Pyle Group as well as Silver Sponsors Tim Nicholls CPA, AON Inc., Twisted Trauma, and Wild Rock Peterborough.
