Event Details: Gender Affirming Spaces Project Hosts Trans Art Market in Celebration of Transgender Day of Visibility

Date: March 31, 2022

Time: 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Location: Emmanuel United Church, 534 George St, Peterborough

On Thursday, March 31, The Gender Affirming Spaces Project, with support from Trent University’s Centre for Women and Transgender People, the Canadian Mental Health Association Haliburton, Kawartha Pine Ridge’s Trans Peer Outreach team,  the Nogojiwanong Friendship Centre, Norwood Pride, Peterborough Pride, Rainbow Services Organization, PARN, and PFLAG Peterborough, invites the public to attend the Trans Art Market in honour of Transgender Day of Visitbility. The Gender Affirming Spaces Project (GASP!) is a new volunteer-run group in Peterborough that creates spaces for transgender, non-binary, two spirit, and gender nonconforming people to meet one another and build community.

The Trans Art Market invites all members of the Peterborough area community to join GASP! In celebrating the creative work of trans and gender diverse people. The market will feature 16 artists and performers who identify as transgender, non-binary, two spirit, and/or gender nonconforming. Artists will be selling their work, and attendees are encouraged to bring cash for purchases and donations. In addition, we will be displaying a collection of poster art created for Transgender Day of Remembrance.
