CMHA HKPR Launches New Cycling Fundraiser with $25K Donation from Community Foundation of Greater Peterborough

Date:              Saturday, June 24, 2023

Time:             9:00 a.m. registration, 10:00 a.m. start

Location:       Nicholls Oval, 725 Armour Rd, Peterborough, ON

The Canadian Mental Health Association Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge (CMHA HKPR) is pleased to announce the launch of our new cycling fundraiser, ‘Change the Cycle,’ presented by Tom’s Heating & Cooling, 100.5 Fresh Radio, 101.5 The Wolf and Global Peterborough. Change the Cycle will debut on June 24th at Nicholls Oval in Peterborough.

The funds from Change the Cycle will support the new Garden Homes Project, an initiative of CMHA HKPR’s Supportive Housing program, which aims to support vulnerable individuals who are at risk of homelessness in the Peterborough area by providing affordable, small homes.

CMHA HKPR is thrilled to announce that thanks to a generous donation of $25,000 made by the Community Foundation of Greater Peterborough, we are already halfway to our event fundraising goal of $50,000! In partnership with the Community Foundation of Greater Peterborough, CMHA HKPR will work to match this donation to continue to make the Garden Homes a reality.

In years past, CMHA HKPR has participated in a nation-wide fundraising event but this year, with the goal of keeping all the money right here in our community, we launched our own cycling fundraiser.

Cyclists can register for a 4k, 12k or 26k ride along the Rotary Trail in Peterborough. Please visit changethecycle.net to register as an individual or a team. Registration is $20 per person and children 12 and under register for free. Registration includes the ride, a t-shirt, and a BBQ lunch.

CMHA HKPR would like to sincerely thank our presenting sponsors Toms Heating & Cooling and Corus Entertainment’s the Wolf 101.5, Global Peterborough, and 100.5 Fresh Radio. We would also like to thank Diamond Sponsor, CIBC Wealth – The Pyle Group, Gold Sponsor, AON Inc., and Silver Sponsors, Wild Rock Outfitters and Tim Nicholls Chartered Accountant.
