Bell Let’s Talk Day, January 28, 2021

The Canadian Mental Health Association Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge (C.M.H.A. H.K.P.R.), along with Bell, invite you to take action and join the nationwide conversation about mental health on January 28th for Bell Let’s Talk Day.

When it comes to mental health, now more than ever, every action counts. Whether big or small, our actions can make a big difference in moving Canada’s mental health forward.

Bell continues to invest in our communities’ mental health programs, with $113,415,135 in funding committed to mental health initiatives, supporting 775 organizations across Canada! Locally, C.M.H.A. H.K.P.R. has been a multiple beneficiary of Bell’s community grants.

Bell offers their Five Simple Ways to help fight the stigma surrounding mental illness:
1. Language matters – pay attention to the words you use.
2. Educate yourself – learn, know and talk more – understand the signs when someone needs help. Consider education offered through C.M.H.A.  H.K.P.R., including corporate and workplace mental health education as well as certificate training such as Virtual Mental Health First Aid.
3. Be kind – small acts of kindness to someone struggling can help a lot.
4. Listen and ask – sometimes it is best to just listen.
5. Talk about it – start a dialogue, break the silence!

Join the conversation on January 28th! Bell will donate 5 cents for each of the following:
• Talk and text: Every text message, mobile and long distance call made by Bell, Bell Aliant and Bell MTS wireless and phone customers.
• Twitter: Every tweet and retweet using #BellLetsTalk, which includes a special emoji, and Bell Let’s Talk Day video view at Twitter.com/Bell_LetsTalk.
• Facebook: Every Bell Let’s Talk Day video view at Facebook.com/BellLetsTalk and use of the Bell Let’s Talk frame.
• Instagram: Every Bell Let’s Talk Day video view at Instagram.com/Bell_LetsTalk.
• Snapchat: Every use of the Bell Let’s Talk filter.
