Peterborough – The Canadian Mental Health Association Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge (CMHA HKPR) invites members of the media to join us on April 10, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Tom’s Heating and Cooling in Peterborough for the official launch of the 4th Annual Change the Cycle community cycling fundraiser.

This year’s event, returning on June 20, 2026, at Nicholls Oval, continues the tradition of bringing people together for cycling, community, and mental health advocacy. Since its inception in 2023, Change the Cycle has raised more than $100,000 to enhance mental health support across the region. These funds have helped expand suicide intervention programming, advance supportive housing initiatives including the installation of CMHA HKPR’s Garden Home, and supported youth and family services.

Proceeds from the 2026 ride will support unfunded and non‑annualized mental health programs at CMHA HKPR, helping fill critical gaps so individuals and families can access the services they need.

Participants can register online starting today at www.changethecycle.net. There are options to register as an individual or team, and children under 12 ride for free. The launch event will also highlight the debut of this year’s official theme song, “Let’s Go For a Ride,” generously provided by local band Soup.

Media attending the launch will have opportunities to speak with CMHA HKPR representatives, event sponsors, and community supporters about the importance of this year’s fundraiser and its impact on local mental health services. Photo, video, and interview opportunities will be available.

CMHA HKPR gratefully acknowledges the support of our 2026 Change the Cycle sponsors: Presenting Sponsors Tom’s Heating and Cooling and Corus Entertainment; Diamond Sponsors The Pyle Group and Merrett Home Hardware; Gold Sponsors AON Inc. and RBC Financial; Silver Sponsor Darling Insurance; and Event Sponsors Billyard Insurance Group and Unity Design Studio.
