An intake service is the point of entry for consumers who want case management services. Intake provides in depth OCAN assessments for the consumer, which assists in identifying issues that currently are of concern to the consumer. Intake also provides brief services to consumers who do not meet the criteria for intensive case management but need assistance and support with issues that can be addressed without case management services. These supports generally are available for 1-3 months. Intake staff work with consumers who walk in to the agency with a situational crisis. They will provide assistance for the consumer by making referrals to local community supports, and assist the individual so that the current crisis is rectified. Intake staff are also the gateway to CMHA housing. Consumers must be involved in CMHA programming to be eligible for this service.
