Champion of Mental Health Award

The Champion of Mental Health award is presented at the Annual General Meeting. The Canadian Mental Health Association Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge ( C.M.H.A. H.K.P.R.) acknowledges individuals or organizations that have made outstanding contributions in the community supporting mental health. These contributions should support Knowledge, Hope and Belonging, the three pillars that form the foundation of our organization to enable Mental Health for All. The following criteria are used in choosing a Champion of Mental Health: Knowledge – Make a significant contribution to reduce the stigma of mental illness through education, the sharing of personal experience or other means to expand the knowledge regarding mental illness. Hope – Make a significant contribution to create, support or expand Programs and Services, thus empowering persons living with mental illness to experience recovery, hope and improved quality of life. Belonging – Make a significant contribution to the creation of an inclusive and engaged community for persons living with mental illness and their families to reduce isolation and enhance a sense of belonging.
